I did a quick War Thunder test flight following these guidelines, with lens distortion on and a 1024×768 resolution. From my experience with the S5, having the lens distortion active is ok (no major impact on performance), but since you are using a colorcross, having lens distortion disabled is fine too, since it is not a very good head mount and FOV, field of view, is quite low (minimal immersion) Speed mode will disable lens distortion (the curved view), in balanced mode you can activate the lens distortion option.
Since you are using Fake3D, that would only lower quality and performance – definitely do not use a landscape (16:9) resolution like 1920×1080.

Using latest Samsung USB driver might help performance, but not sure it is key, so don’t bother about it just yet.

I would have thought that if it was straight then the text would come out ok. Lastly, how is the screen suppose to look with the headset on. My screen is 1920×1080, I read somewhere that 1080×960 is best but I tried that and it didn’t make much difference.

When I view the video through my vr headset the text is a lot sharper than in Trinus: That’s not my concern though, I haven’t managed to get it so I can see the text clearly in war thunder and have tried various resolutions. My PC is pretty good, I can run war thunder at ~50fps across three monitors at relatively high settings but I rarely get more than 20 with my phone and get spikes. I use a Colorcross vr headset (for which there is no preset in trinus unfortunately) with a Galaxy S5 on USB2.0 but I’m hoping that’s due to my settings. I purchased Trinus VR a few days ago and have had some success (using it to play war thunder) although I still haven’t been able to make it playable.
